How to Celebrate the Fourth of July in Dallas

The best performances, parades, and festivals for Independence Day in North Texas.

Performances

On July 1 at Fort Worth’s Panther Island Pavilion, the live music lineup entertaining tubers for Rockin’ on the River includes Cole Risner and Wayne Garner. The July 8 installment boasts Parker McCollum, among others.

Billy Bob’s Fourth of July Picnic arrives early on July 1, with performances by the Eli Young Band, Green River Ordinance, and more.

On July 2, the Outlaw Music Festival at Starplex Pavilion pulls off the neat trick of getting Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, and the Avett Brothers on the same bill.

Daphne Willis and Brad Thompson take the stage for free shows while fireworks take the sky at Arlington’s Levitt Pavilion on July 3.

Roger Waters, fully armed with Pink Floyd songs and enough money to fund a real jaw-dropper of a stage show, plus a dose of righteous fury at today’s political situation, brings the “Us vs. Them” tour to American Airlines Center.

The Dallas Winds are at the Meyerson for the best patriotic music program you’ll hear all year, with a July 4 matinee Star-Spangled Spectacular.

The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra performs to fireworked accompaniment three nights, July 2-4, at the city’s botanic garden.

Parades

The Park Cities Fourth of July Parade kicks off at 9 a.m. on Independence Day, traveling up Preston Road toward Goar Park.

The Lakewood Fourth of July Parade kicks off Independence Day morning near the Lakewood Country Club.

The Plano Lions Independence Day Parade begins near the Plano ISD administration building on the Fourth of July.

McKinney parades downtown at 10 a.m.

The Fourth of July Parade in Arlington on Independence Day begins a day full of celebratory events.

The blast from the past Heritage Village at Old City Park has a day of historical throwback Old Fashioned Fourth of July events, including an “All-Join-In Parade.”

Parties, Festivals, and Celebrations

With Fair Park Fourth, Fair Park lights up its Midway with games, rides, and food like the you-know-what is in town. Fireworks follow, with seating at the Cotton Bowl and elsewhere.

Kaboom Town, on July 3 in Addison, is known as one of the best fireworks shows in the country, but the festival gates open in the afternoon, and the rest of the town is teeming with parties and other special events.

Red White and Boom on the Bridge, on July 3 at the Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge, concludes with fireworks, but not before a day of live music, food, and activities on the scenic bridge.

Fort Worth’s Fourth at Panther Island Pavilion is a full day of water-bound fun in and around the Trinity.

A string of fun nights are in store at the ballpark, as the Rangers’ series against the Red Sox at Globe Life Park includes post-game fireworks on July 3 and 4, and Game of Thrones night is July 5.

Light Up Arlington includes live music, food, and games before the night gets truly lit up.

Gambling, horse-racing, and America, all at Lone Stars and Stripes at Lone Star Park.

The Frisco Freedom Fest includes a 5K run, daschund races, live music, face painting, bounce houses, and an FC Dallas game, followed by fireworks at Toyota Stadium.
