Go to an outdoor concert. For free.
Visit one of North Texas’ best waterparks or spraygrounds. As far as pools go, we’re partial to the Fraternal Order of Eagles in East Dallas. As far as hotel pools go, try one of these. Or, heck, maybe one of these. Dallas has a lot of swimming pools.
Go ice skating at the Galleria and pretend you’re in a winter wonderland.
Eat sno cones, ice cream, and popsicles.
Hang out in an air-conditioned arcade. Or an air-conditioned movie theater. Or an air-conditioned car, while taking in a movie at a drive-in theater — perhaps Galaxy in Ennis, or Coyote in Fort Worth, or the new-ish Coyote in Lewisville.
Lock yourself in an air-conditioned room, and then escape from it.
Head to one of Dallas’ coolest patios, upon which you can imbibe one of these frozen adult drinks.
Slap on some sunscreen, put on some boots, fill a water bottle, and embark on one of Dallas’ best hiking trails.
Take a weekend and get away from it all by visiting one of these 10 nearby vacation spots.
Find a charitable organization and a cause you care about, and volunteer some of your free summer time.
Read a book. Visit the Wild Detectives, Deep Vellum, Half Price Books, Lucky Dog, or (coming in July) the new Interabang Books to fill out your summer reading list.
