Power Ranking the Celebrity Guests at Dallas Fan Days

We crunch the numbers on the combined star power at the comic con.

Dallas Fan Days, the smaller cousin of the annual summer event once and informally known as Dallas Comic Con, is this weekend at the Irving Convention Center. It’s an opportunity for pop culture fanatics to try out some Halloween options early with cosplay while enjoying panel discussions, a comic artist alley, and more nerdy delights.

It is also, as usual, a chance to greet, meet, and maybe snap a selfie with a celebrity guest. The full lineup of guests at Dallas Fan Days includes names from comics, animation, and cosplay, but we’re going to focus on the general “celebrity” category for the purpose of these rankings. So who is the biggest celebrity at the event? We crunched the numbers:

5. Tori Spelling — Spelling’s star has undoubtedly waned since the days of Beverly Hills 90210, but she gets credit for branching out — perhaps most notably as the author of six books — and for being something of a prototype for celebrity socialites that came in her wake.

4. Mick Foley — The professional wrestling mogul is the creator of at least three of wrestling’s most beloved personalities, none more beloved than that of “Mick Foley,” fan favorite and elder statesman of the world’s most outrageous sports-entertainment hybrid.

3. Christian Slater — The afterglow of Slater’s ’80s and ’90s star power would make him a competitor in any such rankings, but it’s his resurgence as one of the leads on the fantastic USA television show Mr. Robot that makes him such a formidable opponent here.

2. Michael Dorn — He’s Worf. He was on Star Trek. He’s at a comic convention. Come on.

1. Millie Bobby Brown — The newest celebrity can be the most competitive, particularly when it comes to power rankings. Brown, the 12-year-old actor who plays the precocious and gifted child Eleven on the hit Netflix show Stranger Things, could be a hero of the comic con circuit for years to come. These Stranger Things kids are going places.

Dallas Fan Days is this Friday through Sunday at the Irving Convention Center. Go here for more info.
