Thursday (09/08)

Bad Company | The Bomb Factory

Mark Cuban’s free summer concert series promoting his AXS TV network concludes with the undeniable Bad Company.

Friday (09/09)

The Game | Gas Monkey Live!

The Compton-raised rapper is soon to appear in a docu-series about the city’s history and its musical culture, from N.W.A. to Kendrick Lamar. He’s a West Coast artist through and through, falling on a trajectory somewhere between Dr. Dre and YG.

Megan Hilty | Meyerson Symphony Center

Fans of musical theater and/or the NBC television show Smash should be delighted to spend an evening with the Broadway star, who will perform show tunes and takes from her own album. Performances repeat Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday (09/10)

Kraftwerk | The Bomb Factory

Many electronic music acts have a reputation for visually distinctive stage shows, whether it’s the neon pyramid of Daft Punk or the light-up mouse head of Deadmau5. Kraftwerk, the legendary techno minimalists who pioneered the form, are just as original in presenting their music live: Billed as a 3D concert experience, retro glasses and all, Kraftwerk blends the analog and digital, man and machine, in a spectacle for the ears and eyes.

Garbage | South Side Ballroom

The stylish, glossy alt-rock band is almost certainly enjoying the current wave of 1990s revivalism. We sure are.

Mur | The Kessler Theater

The Dallas band celebrates the release of its new album, Fire Escapes, its first following a long absence.

Sunday (09/11)

Floating Points | Club Dada

The electronic music producer Sam Shepherd (who, fun fact, moonlights as a neuroscientist) records moody, near-ambient soundscapes big and complex enough to spend hours getting lost in. Live, Shepherd is joined by a large band — anywhere from 11 to 16 members in past incarnations — that fleshes out and transforms his intricate compositions.
