St. Vincent Plays the National Anthem for Super Bowl-Bound Dallas Cowboys

Annie Clark is a Cowboys fan. So am I.

Annie Clark, because she is from Dallas and supports only the greatest and most storied professional football franchises, is a Cowboys fan.

In a new NFL ad spot, the singer-songwriter, better known as St. Vincent, talks about her love for the team. Growing up during the Aikman-Smith-Irvin era of the ’90s, Clark was indoctrinated early when her parents bought her a jersey. She has also had a vision of being summoned from the stands to lead the Cowboys to victory in a close game, and who hasn’t been there?

Clark shreds a “bendy, and a little bit manic or off-kilter” take on the “Star-Spangled Banner” (on her signature guitar) in honor of America and America’s Team.

With future Hall of Famer Ezekiel Elliott (soon to be nicknamed Ezekiel 25:17) and now the considerable firepower of a sick guitar version of the national anthem, I feel confident calling it right here and right now: Your Dallas Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl in 2017.

The season starts Sept. 11 at home.
