Masque of the Red Death at the Majestic TheatreApril 7, 7:30 p.m. 1925 Elm St. Dallas, TX 75201.

Dallas Neo-Classical Ballet will present a full-length adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s Masque of the Red Death, and they have commissioned artists Jeff Gibbons and Gregory Ruppe to create visuals and settings for the show, promising to “collapse the theater’s architectural body, performer and audience, and subconscious space onto the stage.”

Oliver Clegg: Life is a Gasssss at Erin Cluley GalleryApril 9, 6-8 p.m. 414 Fabrication St. Dallas, TX 75212.

In addition to the Brooklyn-based artist’s solo exhibition at Erin Cluley this weekend, be sure to visit a nearby warehouse in West Dallas where Clegg has installed his kinetic sculpture, “Until the Cows Come Home,” which first debuted at the Brooklyn Museum in 2014. The artwork will serve as the centerpiece to a series of interactive dinners that will take place in the warehouse throughout the week after the opening.

Sybren Renema: The Harvest of Leisure at CydoniaApril 9, 6-8 p.m. 167 Payne St. Dallas, TX 75207.

Continuing its run of offering first U.S. solo shows for artists from around the world, Cydonia presents work by Glasgow-based Sybren Renema, who uses the work of Samuel Taylor Coleridge as a stepping off point for exploring leisure, travel, and the persona of the traveler.

Brent Ozaeta: Continuum at The Safe Room at the Texas TheatreApril 9, 7-10 p.m. 231 W. Jefferson Blvd. Dallas, TX 75208.

Artist and printmaker Brent Ozaeta will fill the tiny Safe Room gallery with images and ephemera mined from the internet. Those digital images are then collaged together in meticulously crafted silk screen prints, half-suggestive narratives which often express a feeling of existential malaise and cultural dissociation.

Michelle Thomas: Mirage at TERRAIN DallasApril 10, 1-4 p.m. 1122 Elmdale Pl Dallas, TX 75224.

Like some of the other projects that have been staged at this home-based, Elmwood art space, Michelle Thomas’ Mirage seeks to blur distinctions between interior and exterior space in order to create an interactive installation that exposes the architecture of physical and experienced space.
