Spring break has passed, and soon enough, we know you’ll be eager for another diverting activity. You don’t have to go far—you can laugh yourself into relaxation right here in North Texas. Dallas has you covered when it comes to comedy, and we’ve made it easy for you by compiling a list of the best comedy events in Dallas this spring. It’s sure to be the perfect antidote to your mid-spring funk.

Arden Myrin at Hyena’s Dallas, April 14-16, five shows at various times

Myrin has been in the background of the comedy world for quite some time. Earlier in her career, Myrin starred on MADtv, and she appeared on more than 100 Chelsea Lately episodes. More recently, she appeared in ABC’s comedy series Fresh off the Boat, Inside Amy Schumer, Orange is the New Black, Key and Peele, and more. She’s held minor roles in movies and TV shows such as Evan Almighty, Christmas with the Kranks, Gilmore Girls, and Friends.

Lavell Crawford at the Improv (Addison), April 15-17, five shows at various times

Lavell Crawford is perhaps best known for his role as Huell Babineaux, Saul Goodman’s personal bodyguard in Breaking Bad. Crawford gained exposure and comic credibility after his appearance on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. His other credits include a leading role in Netflix’s movie The Ridiculous 6, as well as guest appearances on Workaholics, Tosh.0, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. With his ever-growing comic portfolio, Crawford is one to see.

David Cross at the Majestic, April 23, 8PM

David Cross is in the midst of his 2016 Trump-referencing tour, “Making America Great Again!” This tenured comedian has been performing stand-up since he was a teenager, but you may know Cross from his role as Tobias Fünke on Arrested Development. He’s been all over the comedy spectrum; from co-creating HBO’s sketch comedy series Mr. Show, to winning an Emmy for his writing on The Ben Stiller Show. He has even had roles in children’s movies such as Alvin and the Chipmunks and Kung Fu Panda. No matter your taste, this comic connoisseur is a must-see.

Mike Epps at Verizon Theatre, May 7, 7PM

You may recognize Epps from his minor role as the roofie-dealing “Black Doug” from The Hangover, or from his leading role in the films Next Friday and Friday After Next. This spring, Epps will be in Grand Prairie for the “Festival of Laughs” tour, accompanied by Cocoa Brown and Rickey Smiley. With their résumés combined, these three personalities have a vast repertoire in the comedy world.

Scott Aukerman’s Comedy Bang! Bang! at the Texas Theatre, May 17, 7PM

Maybe best known for hosting the podcast Comedy Bang! Bang! (formerly Comedy Death-Ray), Scott Aukerman will be stopping by the Texas Theatre on his tour named, aptly after his successful podcast and TV show on IFC. Aukerman co-founded the podcast network Earwolf, and co-created Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis — literally set between two ferns, the intentionally awkward interview show featured notable persons such as Brad Pitt, President Barack Obama, and, in its most viewed episode, Justin Bieber. Fellow comedians Lauren Lapkus, Paul F. Tompkins, and Neil Campbell will join Aukerman on tour. To prepare for the night, we suggest listening to a few of Aukerman’s Comedy Bang! Bang! podcast episodes here.

Jane Lynch at the House of Blues, June 11, 7PM and 9:30PM

Sweat suit wearing, cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester from Fox’s musical comedy series Glee, is back. Comedienne Jane Lynch will be stopping in Dallas for two shows in one night on her tour, “See Jane Sing!” Lynch has held supporting roles in well-known comedy films including The 40-Year-Old-Virgin and Role Models. In addition to her comic chops, Lynch is an activist and singer. Per the tour’s title, we expect some sort of singing, and based on Lynch herself, we know you will be laughing.
