We have a late addition to the list of local performers Taylor Swift should bring on stage when she plays at AT&T Stadium this month.

Joel Cross, a North Texas singer-songwriter and UNT grad, has the internet going nuts this week after a YouTube video of him covering Swift’s “Shake It Off” at the Dallas Arboretum on Saturday went up online. It’s a smooth, soulful take on the song that comes at a time when Taylor Swift covers are all the rage. His interpretation of Amos Lee’s “Arms of a Woman” hasn’t taken off yet, but it’s also pretty nice.

Cross says he’s working on a studio recording of “Shake It Off.” In the meantime, the musician has a bunch of local gigs coming up, including several more performances at the Arboretum.

You can listen to the song below.
