Country music star Brad Paisley will be performing tonight at the Gexa Energy Pavillion as part of his Beat this Winter 2014 tour. Expect to hear plenty of long-time favorites, as well as recent hits from his 2013 release, Wheelhouse which debuted to positive reviews and a top spot on the Billboard Country Music charts. Paisley’s just returned from a sold-out Scandinavian tour and a full festival circuit, having also appeared at the 2014 Country to Country Festival in London and Dublin. He’ll be joined by some of his country peers, including Billy Cunningham, Charlie Worsham, and Gloriana.
Singer-songwriter Justin Currie will take to The Kessler’s stage in support of his 2014 international tour. Currie came to fame as part of the Scottish band Del Amitri, whose string of hits in the 1990s earned them plenty of international acclaim. The band’s 1995 hit “Roll to Me,” earned them a spot high on the Billboard Top 100 Charts and continued success until the band’s last album in 2002. Since then, Currie has released some solo projects, such as Lower Reaches in 2013. He’ll be joined by The Mastersons.
World-renowned pianist Yefim Bronfman will perform the first of his three night stay at the Meyerson Symphony Center tonight with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The Grammy-award winning artist will be celebrating the life and work of legendary composer and pianist Beethoven with renditions of the performer’s most innovative work, and at the guidance of the DSO’s noted conductor, Jaap van Zweden.
As always, Dallas DJs will be performing several residencies tonight: join Colly T and guest DJ Blake Ward at the Beauty Bar for VIBE; DJ Sober is back from tour and will return to The Basement at The Travis; DJ Spacechase’s Subsonic Indulgence will kick off at Andy’s and Yeahdef’s Y2k will take place at Hailey’s. Too Fresh Productions will present Hip Hop Karaoke at the Crown and Harp.
