In Ruins: Constellation by Hollis Hammonds at The Safe Room Gallery at the Texas TheatreApril 19, 6-9 p.m. 231 W. Jefferson Blvd. Dallas, TX 75208.

The Texas Theatre’s itsy-bitsy Safe Room gallery is back with work by Hollis Hammonds, an Austin-based artists whose complicated, virtuosic drawings collage dystopian landscapes or document disaster aftermaths in a style that feels part Robert Crumb and part Pieter Bruegel.

An Image Passing by Sally Warren at Liliana Bloch GalleryApril 19, 6-9 p.m. 2919 Commerce St. Suite C Dallas, TX 75226.

Sally Warren’s latest body of work incorporates iPhone images into suggestive and ethereal prints and collages.

Allocated Spaces by Eduardo Portillo at Kirk Hopper GalleryApril 19, 6:30-8:30 p.m. 3008 Commerce St., Dallas, TX 75226.

The El Salvador-born, Houston-based Portillo creates wall-hanging abstractions that blur the distinction between painting and sculpture.

GUTHMILLER // KRAUSE // PEACOCK // STARR // INFERNO TEXINO at Deep Ellum Windows –April 19, 7 p.m. 2647 Main St. // 2626 Main St. // 2810 Main St. // 2625 Main St. // 2642 Main St. Dallas, TX 75226.

The Deep Ellum Windows are rotating exhibitions regularly again. This latest lineup of solo shows features shape-fiend Randy Guthmiller, who will create a mural in one of the vacant storefront spaces.

Anna Paola Guerra, Lucy Kirkman, Lauralee Pope presented by DB14 April 19, 7-9 p.m. 8500 N. Stemmons Office Building Dallas, TX 75247.

Another week, another DB14 opening. The drab and innocuous Stemmons office building is a curious exhibition space. In the last go-around it proved a fantastic setting for Hubert Marecaille’s ingenious video satire of the contemporary dissociation. This week features three artists whose light touch activates evocative poetics.
