This Week’s Visual Art, July 24-27: Another Nasher Roll-Out and the Weekend’s Openings

The Nasher Sculpture Center continues to roll out projects for its tenth anniversary Nasher XChange program. This time it's Liz Larner at UT Dallas.

The Nasher Sculpture Center continues to roll out projects for its tenth anniversary Nasher XChange program. The latest comes from Los Angeles-based artist Liz Larner, who will exhibit a sculpture on the campus of the University of Texas at Dallas. So, we’ve stepped into a more traditional venue for outdoor sculpture (as opposed to the previous three community-minded projects). Larner’s piece, which we see in a brief computer rendering included in the video rendering below, will be an x-shaped reflective structure that stands on its own stilt-like arms. According to the release, the site was chosen because of Larner and the university’s shared interest in art and technology.
