UPDATE 2: Tim just got back from Chase trying to redeem his wristbands. Tim had an order confirmation for four wristbands. The representative at Chase just asked him, “How many do you want?” Tim said, “Don’t you want to see my confirmation?” Chase rep: “Nope. Let me know how many you need and your phone number, and I’ll call you when they come in.” So there you have it. “Sold out” is a very slushy term right now in regards to the Klyde Warren super grand opening. It’s every park lover for him/her self.

UPDATE: Now it says that the tickets to the Klyde Warren opening are sold out (of course you can still cough up $200 for the reserved section). But here’s the catch, does that mean that you can no longer print out the paper RSVP/order confirmation from the site confirming that you have a ticket? Or does it mean there are no more wristbands at the participating locations? And if it is the former but not the later, what is preventing someone from printing out a dozen copies of the same RSVP and bringing them to a handful of Albertsons? There aren’t any numbers or bar codes on the RSVPs. So stay tuned, because this may get messy. It looks like opening night will offer park officials the first opportunity to test how well it can manage a crowd on the deck park.

There will be 6,000 free general admission tickets available for the opening night concert at Klyde Warren Park (the park formerly known as the Woodall Rodgers Deck Park), featuring performances by The Polyphonic Spree and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue. As of this morning, you can get your free tickets by following this link and clicking on the “get tickets” button on the upper right hand corner of the webpage.

Only wait, registering for tickets on the Klyde Warren site doesn’t get you tickets. It gets you a piece of paper that you need to print out and bring to participating Chase or Albertsons locations where they will give a wristband.

Also, the release below outlines some of the other (ticket-less) events planned for the weekend. And what’s this? Owen Wilson is the event’s honorary chair. Said details:
