Thanks to a new ruling by TABC, beginning with the Gipsy Kings concert on May 2, audience members will be able to bring their own beer and wine to outdoor events at the AT&T Performing Arts Center’s Annette Strauss Square. Here are the details:

BYOB Kicks Off With GIPSY KINGS Concert at the AT&T Performing Arts Center
(DALLAS) Audiences enjoying performances under the stars atAnnette Strauss Squarewill now be able to bring their own wine, beer and alcoholic beverages. A new ruling by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission allows guests to BYOB to most lawn and seating areas inStrauss Square, the outdoor performance venue at theAT&TPerformingArtsCenter. Guests can now bring their own picnic baskets as well. This will begin with the GIPSY KINGS concert on May 2.
“Our guests have consistently told us they would like the option to bring their own wine or beer, said Doug Curtis, acting president and CEO of the AT&T Performing Arts Center. “This ruling now allows us to offer this, and I can’t think of a better concert to kick this off with than the GIPSY KINGS!”
As part of the policy change, the Center will let audience members to bring in coolers, but only soft-sided coolers will be allowed. Alcoholic beverages will still be for sale in separated area on the elevated porch, but according to TABC rules those drinks must be consumed within that defined area.
The GIPSY KINGS will perform in Strauss Square on Wednesday, May 2 at 8 p.m. The concert is a co-presentation between the Center and Dallas Pops. The highly popular GIPSY KINGS consist of two bands of brothers: the Reyes (Nicolas, Canut, Paul, Patchai, Andre) and the Baliardos (Tonino, Paco, Diego). The Reyes and Baliardo boys were the offspring of Spanish gypsy families that had fled into France to escape Spain’s Civil War. They grew up roaming the south of France, working harvests and making music. GIPSY KINGS is co-presented by the Dallas POPS.
Tickets range from $55.00 to $95.00 and can be purchased online at www.attpac.org, by phone at 214.880.0202, or in person at the AT&T Performing Arts Center Box office at the Winspear Opera House, 2403 Flora Street (Monday through Saturday, 10 am – 6 pm; Sunday 11 am – 4 pm), or at the remote Box Office at Park Place Lexus Plano at 1025 Preston Road.
