George Clooney to Star in Adaptation of Robert Edsel Book

Robert Edsel is the Dallas writer who has made a name for himself hunting down priceless works of art that fell into Nazi hands during World War II. His efforts have contributed to one documentary, The Rape of Europa, and you can read about the 2011 Texas Medal of the Arts recipient in this D Magazine profile. Now, according to the LA Times, Edsel’s book, The Monuments Men, about the soldiers who helped save art in the aftermath of the Second World War, will be adapted into a new movie directed and starring George Clooney.
