Photos: Artist EINE Draws On Museum Tower Property, Other Spotted Local Street Art

Remember that MTV/Goss-Michael Foundation Auction we told you about? Well today one of the participating artists, EINE, was over at Museum Tower spraying on the development’s walls to create buzz — and work — for the auction event. Here’s some info on EINE:

Ben Flynn, a.k.a. EINE, shot to international fame when UK Prime Minister David Cameron presented one of his works to President Barack Obama as a gift on his first official state visit to the UK.  But, he is arguably more famous for “Alphabet Street” – the shutters and murals he painted in his trademark colors and typography in Middlesex Street, London– and is described by The Times of London as “a street now internationally recognized as a living piece of art with direct links to The White House.”

And then, in a serendipitous coincidence, moments after the EINE pictures dropped in the inbox, friend of the program and local street art aficionado, Michael Durkin, sent over some other images of some local, decidedly unsanctioned, work. From Durkin:

The first shot is on the front of an abandoned Jack in The Box on HWY 121, the other is on the back door of Adairs in Deep Ellum.  I also included a shot of a Lincoln stencil on the cash box next to Baker’s Ribs and Angry Dog (I would imagine it is a different artist than the bomb guy).  I haven’t been as vigilant lately looking for new art, but I am happy to report that our scene is emerging from the ugly shadows of “tagging”.

Below you can find a few shots of EINE at work, and then the three pictures from Durkin. Enjoy.
