Art Con Season Kicks Off With This Weekend’s Seed Auction

Art Conspiracy, the annual art auction/music party/hell of a good time, takes place each year in October. To throw the event, organizers hold a summer auction each year to raise the money for the main affair. It is hard to decide which one is more fun. The full-blown Art Conspiracy features hundreds of local artists/non-artists/wannabe artists creating work in a all-out warehouse extravaganza. Seed, a more intimate music and art affair, features creative concoction by a number of local artists, usually based around a theme or a material. This year the theme is Better Gnomes and Gardens, and the Art Con Artists have created send offs to iconic garden kitsch. After the jump, full details.

Astroturf’s up!
That’s right, Art Conspiracy’s summertime SEED event, Better Gnomes and Gardens, is upon us and we are ready to get this garden party started.
This Friday night Art Conspiracy will salute iconic garden kitsch by auctioning fanciful flamingoes and garden gnomes that are definitely not your grandma’s garden gnoes.
Art Conspiracy is encouraging everyone to wear their garden party best (or worst) and join us for cool summery cocktails, wild bidding and live music from The Red 100s, John Lefler (backed by a band) and The Blurries
We’ll also be announcing our new 2011 Art Conspiracy beneficiary!
