September Is the Month of El Greco

In the September issue of D Magazine, you will find my profile of Meadows Museum director Mark Roglán, who helped orchestrate an unprecedented partnership between the museum and the Spain’s Museo Nacional del Prado. Over the next three years, the Spanish museum will loan the Meadows three seminal works of Spanish art, beginning with El Greco’s Pentecost. That exhibition will kick off on September 12. But Pentecost will not be the only work by El Greco in North Texas this fall. The Kimbell has announced a loan of El Greco’s Crucifixion from a private Houston collector that is now on display at the Fort Worth museum.
