UT Southwestern Medical Center researchers have identified a molecular mechanism needed to unleash the heart’s ability to regenerate itself. Debbie Branson, chair of the Parkland Board of Managers, calls the hospital's tardiness in paying a $750,000 fine to the state "inexcusable." Dallas-based Epic Health Services Inc., a provider of pediatric and adult home health care, has acquired Boston-based AmeriCare, a Medicare-certified home health agency.

Patriot Tower is getting a new look, a new name, and a new tenant. HKS Inc. will relocate from the Adleta Building at 1919 McKinney Ave. in Uptown to what's being renamed One Dallas Center at 350 N. St. Paul St. in the Dallas central business district.

International Development Co., which makes consumer and industrial energy-related products, has renewed its lease for 330,000 square feet at 899 Henrietta Creek Road in Roanoke. The property is within the Alliance Gateway sector of Hillwood's AllianceTexas.

Charter Holdings has sold Advancial Tower, a 17-story, 147,252-square-foot tower in Uptown just off the new Klyde Warren Park. Led by longtime Dallas real estate investor Ray Washburne, Charter acquired the property in 2002—the same year the buyers, Dan and Farris Wilks, founded their Cisco-based company, Frac Tech Services.
