The Texas Health and Human Services Commission has postponed implementation of the Medicaid reimbursement increase for primary-care physicians authorized by the Affordable Care Act. A reduced length of hospital stay is not associated with an increase in hospital readmissions, according to a study in the Annals of Internal Medicine. The Legislative Budget Board has directed Texas Health and Human Services Commission to restore part of reimbursement cuts for patients covered by Medicare and Medicaid—also known as dual-eligibles.
