TrendTracker Dallas: Fifties Silhouettes

Curves are back and this curvy girl couldn’t be more pleased. Yes, I love shift and baby doll dresses but after two years of belting just about everything I wear (so I don’t look pregnant), I’m ready for a change. The styles of the fifties were perfect for showing off hourglass figures. After the utilitarian garments of the forties (due to the war), women were happy to be dressing like women again. Fashion in the 1950’s was marked by garments that were body-hugging. Fitted tops were de rigueur as were two types of skirts – slim and full. So with that in mind, jump to check out the pieces I’ve found around town that represent this uber-feminine, ultra-sexy trend. And check back next week for another TrendTracker Dallas.
