Fullosophie

Chefs

Childhood friends-turned-business partners Jessica Shain and Tarin Holcomb

Inspiration

Farm-to-fork, local, fresh, and seasonal foods worked into recipes inspired by food blogs and magazines

Offerings

Each week, Jessica and Tarin post a new menu on their website featuring staples, such as quinoa-green onion pilaf, organic mixed greens, and roasted beets. Of the dishes we sampled for lunch, our hands-down favorite was the oven-roasted chicken stuffed with apricots and sage. Even our kid taste-tester loved it. Low-carb and gluten-free options are available.

Kid Friendly

There’s a menu section devoted to kids’ meals, including lunch bags. The assemble-it-yourself whole-wheat pita comes with peanut butter and jelly in separate plastic containers, an apple, and pretzels.

Ease

Fullosophie delivers to almost every neighborhood inside I-635. You can order up until Monday at 9 a.m. to have food delivered that same day or on Wednesday. Sign up to receive a weekly newsletter containing recipes, tips, and new menu postings. Delivery is based on the total order price.

Jack’s Southern Comfort Food

Chefs

Executive chef Terance Jenkins and owner Scott Jones

Inspiration

Locally farmed produce and dishes that taste like they’re from  your grandmother’s kitchen

Offerings

Jack’s is known for fluffy buttermilk biscuits topped with everything from classic gravy to béchamel sauce and braised brisket. The upside-down pot pies are too good to miss, and the sausage balls (blended from Jimmy’s Italian sausage and three cheeses) are a hit with kids. Add them to spaghetti for a fancier dinner.

Kid Friendly

If you’re opting for pickup instead of delivery, the Greenville Avenue restaurant has a market where moms can shop for gourmet foods while kids nosh a free afternoon snack such as fresh fruit and yogurt.

Ease

Jack’s uses Scooter Boogie to provide delivery seven days a week within a 3.5-mile radius of the I-35 and Woodall Rodgers split. A flat $5 fee applies to each order, and $10 minimum order is required.
