Jewelry designer and mom of 5-year-old Hewes, 3-year-old Willa, and 2-year-old Shep

Bonnie Basham’s jewelry line has graced the necks (and wrists) of celebs such as Nicole Richie and Drew Barrymore, but her beauty routine is down to earth—and full of tips and tricks.

Diet
Breakfast: “I’ve started making the Chocolate Love Smoothie from Gwyneth Paltrow’s website. It’s good and filling. But I often I just have what my kids are eating . It’s usually oatmeal or hardboiled eggs and toast with almond butter.” Snacks: “I eat every three hours. I always keep almonds and an apple around. I also love hummus and avocados.” Lunch: “I love Southpaw’s and Dive. I’ll also go to Rise No. 1 any time, any day.” Dinner: “Dinner is often a big snack plate. We’ll have apple, peanut butter, some hummus, and some carrots. And someone will make a peanut butter and jelly.” Guilty foods: “I love a cheeseburger or a cheese plate. If there is a plate of doughnuts out, I’m going to have twelve, so I try not to be around them. ” Beverages: “I’m a coffee girl, but I drink it in the morning. I try to stick with water with lemon or iced tea during the day.” Vitamins: “Fish oil and flax seed oil.”

Fitness
“I like to work out. I’m a member at the YMCA. I used to go to CrossFit, and I really loved it. I learned a lot from that workout, but I’m not a gym girl. If it’s a nice day outside, I’ll do squats and pushups in the driveway and run up and down the street. It’s kind of jailhouse, you know?”

Sunday_Rileys_Juno_Serum Sunday Riley juno transformative lipid serum, $125, sundayriley.com.

Skin Care
“In the morning I use Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant ($50) and SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF ($152). My sunscreen is La Roche-Posay 50+ Anthelios XL ($33). I mix my Chanel foundation with it. At night I use Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel ($34) with my Clarisonic Mia ($119). Every other night I use Renova (by prescription), a mild form of Retin A. On nights when I don’t use that, I use coconut oil. I’ve also started using Sunday Riley’s Juno Transformative Lipid Serum ($125). I get facials from Alexia Badami.”

Essie_Ballet_Slippers Essie ballet slippers nail polish, $8, Target.

Makeup
“I go pretty natural. I use Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation ($55). It’s like a beauty balm. It has a tiny bit of color, but it’s got all the good stuff in it. I love Benefit Benetint ($29) and a Chanel eyeliner ($30) in a mauve-brown. I pencil in my brows with a MAC pencil ($19.50), then I put on Dior’s Diorshow mascara ($25). At night I do a messy, smoky cat eye. For lips, I’m stuck back in the ‘70s disco era. I have every version of a frosty pink lipstick made. I work with my hands, and I used to be a nail biter, so I do a light color like Essie Ballet Slippers ($8). I go to Indulgence Nail Salon in Snider Plaza.”

Hair
“I’m kind of a hippie in that I like it messy and beachy and parted down the middle. I like some layers on the crown and some bangs. I get Balayage [highlights]—it looks more natural. I’ve been using Jason Tea Tree Oil Shampoo ($9) from Whole Foods, but I like Shu Uemura Full Shimmer Illuminating Shampoo ($48) for color. I go to Timothy James at Shampoo by Timothy in the Salon Boutique at Preston Center for blowouts.”

Body
“I use coconut oil. If my hands are dry, I’ll just grab a scoop of it. I also make my own body scrub, and that’s the base of it. That and sea salt, and then I add all sorts of oils. It’s a groovy, hippie scrub. My friends and I go regularly to Max Feet. They rub your feet and your calves, and then they rub your back for an hour. It’s $35. When it comes to perfume, I’ve worn Bonne Bell Skin Musk Oil ($12) forever.”
