Because sometimes you want a little medical help to look your best.

Park Cities Skin Care

There are so many books about Frenchwoman envy: how to eat like one, parent like one, even have sex like one. But you don’t need a book to have skin like one. You need Dr. Vinita Schroeder. After studying with French dermatologist Dr. Maurice Dray, Schroeder incorporated his techniques into her program to deliver all-in-moderation results with Botox and Juvederm. Patients look refreshed, not tight. Soft, not frozen. It’s a light approach that more people should adopt, and it’s all within reach in the 214. No Air France flight required.

EpiCentre

As part of the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute, this office has a serious, clinical feel from the moment you walk in. Yes, it has the usual menu of options, but you should make appointments here for all things beyond Botox. Super-advanced treatments like Liposonix, which promises to make you one size smaller after one treatment; Coolsculpting, a noninvasive fat reduction; and Ultherapy, a skin-tightening procedure for the face and neck, are big draws. The office building also houses a stable of some of the city’s best plastic surgeons and is next door to The Cloister, a hotel staffed with nurses. You know, for when it’s time to go big.

Renew Med Spa

Equal parts medical spa and salon, Renew offers everything from hair highlights and manicures to VelaShape body contouring, teeth whitening, and facial injections. It’s a noble effort to offer so much in the name of beautification, but if you’re going to come here for something, it should be the laser hair removal. The area you want done and the darkness of your hair determine treatments you need. And it’s not exactly pain free. But smear on some numbing cream, and have a glass of wine before your appointment. All those teeth-gritting zaps will be worth it when you don’t have to shave and wax. The operating hours are worth noting, too. Being inside NorthPark Center means Renew has regular (read: flexible) mall hours, so being able to come in until 9 pm Monday through Saturday is a major plus.

U Med Spa

With both day- and medical-spa treatments, U Med bridges the best of both worlds, making it an easy place to graduate from standard fare to advanced skin care that requires a medical aesthetician or doctor. Located in The Shops at Legacy, the first thing you might notice is the airy atmosphere of the lobby that also functions as a boutique for beauty junkies. High ceilings, white walls with contrasting black trim, and a sun-drenched, window-filled entry make for a serene welcome. When you’re ready to go one step above extractions and fruit acid peels, consider rejuvenating skin with DOT laser therapy. The quick, noninvasive fix smoothes away uneven skin tone and texture from acne scars and sun while also helping collagen growth by focusing a laser on a pattern of tiny dots on the face. With virtually no downtime, it’s one of the most popular ways to see immediate results.

Facial Techniques

The emphasis here is on accessibility. Aesthetician Laura Foster, a 26-year veteran of the beauty industry, doesn’t push and require expensive packages of multiple treatments. Clients pay as they go, and they rely heavily on Foster for her skillful, straightforward skin restoration practice. One of her regulars, a notable Dallasite, says, “Laura is an artist.” Using injectable wrinkle reducers, such as Botox and Sculptra, and skin-brightening and resurfacing chemical peels and facials, her office is a spring of eternal youth. Be sure to check the website for specials.

Lily Med Spa

Tucked inside a 6,000-square-foot beauty mall filled with the private suites of independent hairstylists and skin-care specialists, Lily Med Spa is one of the best-kept secrets among Dallas socialites. Owner Tama Tran, a registered nurse and certified laser tech, administers most-wanted injectables, such as Botox, but she and her staff are also pros at freshening tired, splotchy skin with chemical peels, microdermabrasion, photofacials, and fractional resurfacing. Tran is also partners with the North Texas Food Bank. Whenever a client receives Botox injections, her office donates money for three meals for the hungry. Look good, feel good. What’s better than that?
