Check out this hot new floral and lifestyle shop Cymbidium.
|

No need to wait until May to get beautiful spring flowers. Cymbidium (named after a rare orchid) just opened in Mockingbird Station. The store’s clean and sleek design takes a backseat to the colorful, ever-changing stock. With modern takes on floral design, Cymbidium is a fabulous source for a striking bouquet or arrangement.

But the store isn’t all about flowers. We were impressed by owners Robyn and Rachael Wise’s eye for great gifts and unique accessories, as well as their talent for interior design: the sisters designed and decorated the space themselves. The store is stocked with such fashion-forward items as Garrigue & Jarossay handbags, trinkets and jewels by Tarina Tarantino, and an array of colorful “love plates” by European Sources Direct. Curacao bath salts from KOL Design are a few more of our favorite things.

PRETTY BABIES: Owners Robyn and Rachael Wise stock beautiful boxed arrangements at Cymbidium.

Décor and theme will change every several weeks. “We want to be a fashion company,” Robyn says. “We will change with the season.” Candy colors and gumballs are just the ticket for Easter. “Presentation is key,” she adds. The Wises even send a dashing man (or woman)—sporting threads that match the current theme of the store—in a sleek black van to hand-deliver all orders. Now that’s customer service. NEGLIGEE NOOK
Trousseau—by Touch Gallery
recently opened its doors, unveiling a plethora of elegant undergarments and bridal lingerie. Even if you’re not walking down the aisle (but do need some skivvies), the store carries our favorite undies by On Gossamer, lingerie by Argentovivo, body-shaping items by Spanx, and jewelry by Traeh. West Village, 3699 McKinney Ave., Ste. 103. 214-520-9333.

CLEVER CONSIGNMENTS
Among the stock of gently used furniture and clothing at Dot’s Closet, a Lakewood consignment store, we uncovered a treasure trove of never-before-worn Urban Outfitter accessories and clothing, including handbags by LeSportsac for less than $5 and Puma sneakers for just $20. 5812 Live Oak St. 214-826-4099.

SAVING FACE
Hypnotherapy by Orlane Paris, the first-ever psychodermic anti-aging product ($470/50 ml), claims to stop negative emotions from reaching the skin. Arctic cranberry and date-seed extract supply essential complexes and stimulants to combat emotional shock, resulting in happier, healthier, younger-looking skin. It’s worth a (very expensive) shot. Available at Neiman Marcus Downtown, 1618 Main St. 214-741-6911.
