Laura Ashley has just met her match. Local seamstress and creative wiz Susan Hen-mug has combined a little tuck here with a little stitch there to create a store full of jumpers, dresses, blouses, and rompers sure to rival the grand dame of tiny floral designs and simple patterns. Henning’s clothing is sewn the old-fashioned way-eight seamstresses do the sewing on their own Singers at home, and then deliver the fashionable lookalikes to Henning’s dress shop. First Bloom, in Waxahachie. But if the hour drive is out of your way, Henning brings her work to town five times a year to the Biggest Little Arts and Crafts Show held at Market Hall, lest of all. her prices range from $45 to $75 for jumpers and dresses, $45 to $50 for rompers, and $21 for blouses-all less than half the price of an original Laura Ashley.
