DALLAS City of Winners THE CONSTANT TORCH

A Tradition of Excellence
|

Once again, Highland Park High School has been singled out for national recognition as one of America’s top institutions of learning and student achievement.

The real winners in any field of endeavor have a way of making a consistent record of excellence look easy. Continued leadership, however, should never be taken for granted. And it should never be ignored. Excellence in any worthwhile activity, particularly education, because of its importance to our future, always deserves the spotlight, if for no other reason than as an example to others to “go thou and do likewise.”

Excellence as a team is always especially worthy, whether in the classroom or on the athletic field. It rarely happens without a high degree of cooperation, understanding and downright affection between everyone involved. When a particular school shines more brightly than others, it is usually the result of outstanding contributions by all parties – parents, students, teachers and administration. Each of these four elements must respect and cooperate with the other three to a degree seldom encountered in the average educational discipline.

So we say once again, “Hats off to the families and faculty of Highland Park High School.” We are delighted and proud that the torch of educational excellence is now being lofted higher than ever. It was never in better hands. The tradition of quality continues, marching to a faster, more difficult cadence than ever.
