When Waterworks traded its Preston Center location for new digs in the Design District in January, the purveyor of luxury kitchen and bath fittings gave up 200 square feet. But the light-filled new showroom on Hi Line boasts a clever floor plan that allows the store to display even more of its top-quality artisanal goods.

The two-story space features Waterworks’ signature pieces—think a giant copper soaking tub, museum-worthy marble pedestal sinks, and a Tempo glass mosaic panel inspired by Chinoiserie wallpaper. The new showroom also allows for a broader display of new surfaces, including Claypaper and Promenade; larger tile installations; and the national debut of an assortment of new lighting, which won’t roll out to the 13 other Waterworks locations across the United States until April.

“We are thrilled about the increased interaction with the trade community that the new location affords,” says Carla Huddleston, project coordinator for Waterworks Dallas. But the increased emphasis on Dallas’ design community doesn’t mean Waterworks is abandoning its retail customers. Alongside the unfinished brass fixtures, nickel faucets, and swaths of tile sit apothecary items, including a house line of soaps and candles, Marvis toothpaste, wooden-handled bath brushes, and delicate linen hand towels.
