Living on Lakeside Drive has to be the best. You can mock the constant stream of runners who pretend to belong in the neighborhood. The Dallas Country Club is right around the corner, and you can theoretically walk to Highland Park Village. But, obviously, you never would. And perhaps the best part is the across-the-street view of Turtle Creek—it’s among the city’s best. Now that we agree that Lakeside rules, let’s discuss where you should live. We suggest this Georgian, designed by Anton Korn and built in 1922. “I don’t want a project,” you say. Not to worry. The current owners modified the floor plan, added new mechanical systems, installed an elevator, created a gourmet kitchen and two master suites, and so much more. Despite the improvements, the original charm and traditional details remain intact. And you can check out those Turtle Creek views from all of the bedrooms and formals without breaking a sweat.
