D HOME SCOUT: Will Rutledge

THE MISSION: Find and photograph an antique that speaks to you.

THE FIND: A vintage pedestal phone ($395/Found Antiques, 1225 N. Industrial Blvd. 214-741-5533.)

WHAT WAS THE DRAW? “I liked this piece because it’s functional and odd at the same time. Usually when I antique hunt, I can picture how a particular piece could define a space, but with this phone I was at a loss. It’s a tad gaudy, but the beauty of this thing is that I know it’s perfect for the right someone.” We’re thinking that perfectly lovely person who loves a little bling and a whole lot of phone chains.
