From D CEO June 2016
SubscribeWhile most business matters are conducted in a nearby conference room, the office of Chris Durovich is his “private space” at Children’s Health System of Texas, a pleasant oasis where he says he can “come in and do my own emails and calls and sit and think.” It’s outfitted with a Bose sound system, so when he’s alone in the office on weekends, the healthcare CEO can blast tunes on his iPod: country, folk rock, and hip-hop, mostly. With degrees earned from the University of Vermont (bachelors), University of Northern Colorado (MS), and Kellogg management school at Northwestern University (MBA), Durovich has been president and CEO at Children’s since 2003. There, he’s guided it to become the sixth-largest and second-busiest pediatric healthcare system in the country. Prior to joining Children’s, where 350,000 kids were served in 2015, Durovich held healthcare leadership roles at institutions including The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Baylor College of Medicine.
