A Tip of the Hat To T. Boone Pickens

The billionaire Dallas oilman donated $6 million towards the revitalization of Jubilee Park, a rundown, crime-ridden neighborhood near Fair Park in South Dallas. The money will go to building a new community center for police and government services— scheduled to open in 2009—  and help purchase and bulldoze properties in disrepair. Pickens’ gesture gives still more hope to the dilapidated Fair Park area. (For more on plans to revitalize Fair Park, go here.)
