From pumpkin painting to unicorn pony rides (a real thing!), our inboxes are jam-packed with exciting home- and design-related events this October. Here, we’ll share a few you’ll want to plug into your calendar.

Head to Uptown’s charming Blue Print shop to glimpse swoon-worthy modern artwork by Megan Adams Brooks. Selena Beaudry, Joey Lancaster, and Carolyn Evans. Grab a cocktail, a few hors d’oeuvres, and some face time with the talented artists.

LOCAL at Highland Park Village // Oct. 15, 8-11:30am

The chicest open-air market in Dallas makes its second appearance this Saturday. Nestled between Céline and Balenciaga, “Local” curates great live music, delicious vendors, and products from local artisans each month. Some new vendors set to join the lineup this go-round are Pop Star Popsicles, Lucky Puppy Adventures, and Bird Bakery. Attendees will also be able to paint their own pumpkin or snag a seasonal bouquet from Avant Garden.

Jade & Clover Grand Opening // Oct. 15

If a freshly painted wall and pretty planters caught your eye while driving by Braindead Brewery in Deep Ellum lately, you’re about to get a much better look. The new boutique by Giselle Ruggeberg opens its doors this Saturday, and comes stocked with cool, Dallas-made clothes, gifts, and home accessories, along with our city’s first succulent bar. Ruggeberg likens it to “an Urban Outfitters, but local.” We can get down with that.

The Gypsy Wagon’s Swap & Flea // Oct. 16, 10-4pm

Bargain hunters, take note. The Gypsy Wagon’s 11th Swap & Flea returns this Sunday with loads of vintage bargains. Get to the Henderson Avenue shop early to snag the sweetest steals, including $10-$50 apparel in the Wagon’s 1960s Airstream trailer and deeply discounted antique finds. Enjoy snacks by Steel City Pops and Hypnotic Donuts, sounds by DJ Big J, and (brace yourself) a unicorn pony ride for the kiddos (and curious adults). For a full list of antiques venders, head to the Gypsy Wagon’s website.
