Designer Jennifer Littke has a love for celebrating artists and an eye for beautifully made housewares. Luckily for design-minded Dallasites, those two things combine flawlessly in her charming kitchen and home store SET & Co. which is precisely the reason we dubbed the new Oak Cliff shop this year’s “Best Kitchen Accessories Store.”
We caught up with the talented Littke and her equally creative husband and co-owner Adam to help you get a little better acquainted with the lovely shop at the corner of Tyler and Davis.
{1.} How would you describe your shop’s aesthetic?
Modern Primitive.
{2.} Both you and your partner/husband Adam are incredibly creative people, but what inspired you to open up a store?
For years we have wanted to combine our talents and work on a project together. We both appreciate thoughtfully and beautifully designed products and opening a store that carries artists who make such wares really intrigued us both.
{3.} You guys whip up some gorgeous gift boxes. What products or pieces will you be putting inside this fall?
This fall we have brought in Santa Maria Novella, an Italian company founded in 1221 who features soaps, lotions and scents for the home. Beyond that we are layering in different categories for the holidays that will focus on personal accessories such as scarves, jewelry and men’s apothecary from London based brand, Monocle.
{4.} I can tell (from some casual Instagram stalking) that you guys have gone on some pretty amazing scouting trips to Paris, Berlin, and more. What’s something you saw that you’re excited to bring back to Dallas?
{5.} What do you love most about working (and living!) in Oak Cliff?
Oak Cliff is home. It was very important to us to open a shop in a community that supported us and helped us grow. Owning a business and home in the same neighborhood is truly a dream come true.
