After three years developing their style and honing in on the ever-evolving Bishop Arts area, co-owners (and husband and wife duo) John and Erin Hossley were ready to go all out with their home décor shop, {neighborhood}. With an added 200-square-feet, the lighter, roomier space has plenty of extra room for more “smalls” (candles, quirky knick knacks, and clever card lines) as well as the shop’s bread and butter: sustainable, handmade furniture that’s also fully customizable.
Another added benefit of the renovated shop is the development of {neighborhood’s} 56-foot gallery wall. Each month, the Oak Cliff shop will exhibit a new Texas artist who will have the opportunity to completely repaint and redecorate the gallery wall however they like to display their works. Over the course of the year, the shop will feature artists from Dallas, Houston, Lubbock and more, with Tim Kerr, a folk artist from Austin, bringing his works to {neighborhood} this weekend. His show, “Your Name Here, My Name is Tim,” opens on Saturday, June 6 with live music and drinks beginning at 7pm.
JMR held the space last month, and filled it with his wonderfully bold black and white works, so it will be interesting to see what Kerr, who is known for his colorful pieces, does with the space.
JMR @neighborhood_store party is going on! Stop by we will be here going till 10.
