Prepare to be FLORed.

Do colorful carpets get you excited? Does bold flooring bring a tear to your eye? Okay, even if those things don’t quite bring you to the edge of your emotional brink, this is still pretty cool. By “this,” I mean FLOR’s very first creative competition, taking place at their Dallas store on Tuesday, April 14.

If you’re not familiar with the shop, let’s get you up to speed. FLOR provides cool, colorful carpet modules that, with their smart designs and yearly trends, are more like fashion than flooring. Now that we’re all caught up, the FLOR Design Challenge invites customers to visit the Dallas store on April 14 from 5-8pm to assemble a small-scale version of a FLOR rug using 30 sample-sized carpet tiles. After that, award-winning designer Robin Wilson (who will be on hand signing her newly-released book, Clean Design: Wellness for Your Lifestyle) and FLOR employees will select the top rug design. The winner will win an 8 x 10 version of their design (worth $900) and will compete against other top picks from across the U.S. on www.FLOR.com/designchallenge from July 6 through July 15. The national winner will see their design in a future FLOR line and choose a charity that will receive 50% of the net proceeds.
