ronda rice carmenPeeking inside other people’s homes is fascinating to me. Sounds a little creepy, I realize, but observing how others live provides endless inspiration. But getting to peek inside an interior designer’s home? For a design nerd like me, that’s just, well, beyond. Being privy to their design choices in action, witnessing how their aesthetic sensibility plays out in what is ultimately their most personal (and perhaps important) project — all nirvana.

So, suffice to say, I can’t wait to get my hands on Ronda Rice Carman’s new book Designers at Home: Personal Reflections of Stylish Living. The 304-page tome features the abodes of some 50 esteemed designers, including Dallas’ own Michelle Nussbaumer and Jan Showers, and based on the preview over on Amazon, it’s filled with some major eye candy. (Need proof? let me direct you to the three images below pulled from the book.)

This Thursday, August 8, from 5-7, Carman will be at Mecox signing copies of the book. Oh and our friends Breck Woolsey and Charles Taylor will be on hand to present their new Collective 3 Design furniture line.

I’ll be there with bells on. Who’s with me?
