Habitat for Humanity Has Loads of Tile Perfect For Your Next DIY Endeavor

I’m 5 hours and 37 minutes (but who’s counting) into day one of my three day juice cleanse, and I desperately need something to distract me from the fact that I am already ravenous…It’s a bad scene.

Clearly it’s time  for a little DIY project. (Hang with me here.) See DIY is my happy maker, that is, unless it goes badly, then I get enraged, and I figure that either the happiness from success or the anger over a botched craft will distract me from my hunger.

At least that’s what I’m going with.

I’ve been itching to try my hand at those sweet lace tile coasters above spotted on the Martha Stewart Living craft blog. They would make cute gifts, yes? Perhaps I could get a head start on my holiday gifts… (Clearly, juice cleanses turn me into a raging overachiever.) I also just got word that the Dallas area Habitat for Humanity ReStores have an inventory overload of ceramic tiles, so they’re running a special through January with tiles starting at 29₵ a square foot.

Here’s how I see things:

Deeply discounted tile + a project I’ve been wanting to do that involves lots of tile = the stars are aligning.

I almost forgot I was hungry.

Almost.
