June brings the official beginning of summer, leaving room for lemonade stands, pool days, and sun-kissed skin. Whether you’re looking for something to beat the heat or entertain the kiddos, Dallas has several events in June to get your blood pumping and your summer started.

JUNE 3-4

Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series

The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series kicks off its eighth series at Possum Kingdom Lake, where male and female divers leap from heights of 66 to 90 feet into the water below. To observe, you must have access to the water via a boat, personal watercraft, kayak, or stand-up paddleboard. If you’re more into watching it from home, catch the event on Red Bull TV.

JUNE 4

SoulCycle Preston Hollow’s Opening Day Celebration

Kick off the opening of SoulCycle’s new location in Preston Hollow with fun, food, giveaways, a photo booth, and the rides that have made SoulCycle famous. Everyone is welcome to join the celebration.

JUNE 5

GRIT Fitness Design District Launch Party

Join GRIT Fitness owner Brittani Rettig as she launches her second fitness studio, located in the heart of the Design District. The launch party will feature cocktails by Deep Eddy Vodka, light snacks, and workout gear to shop for by top brands like Luke’s Locker. General admission is free, but a $25 VIP ticket gets you priority entry and a GRIT Swag Bag courtesy of Nike, Trunk Club, Luxury Garage Sale, Socialite Pink Jewelry, Simply Fit Meals, Luke’s Locker, illy, and Elevate Women’s Network. JUNE 9

18th Annual Michelob Ultra Katy5K

Head out to the Katy Trail for an evening run, followed by the delicious Katy Picnic. The picnic is only open to race participants and features food from more than 50 local restaurants paired with plenty of cold Michelob Ultras. Your race bib is your ticket to the picnic, so if you’re not a runner but you want some picnic food, you still have to register for the race. Register here.

Dirk Nowitzki’s 2016 Heroes Celebrity Baseball Game

Dallas Mavericks’ very own Dirk Nowitzki comes back for the fifth time to host the celebrity baseball game that benefits the children’s charities of the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation and Heroes Foundation. You can also count on several celebrity teammates, including Dez Bryant, Chace Crawford, and Jason Terry. Doors open at 5 p.m., following the CBS RADIO DFW Fest, which features a bounce house, inflatable football toss, games, and giveaways. Tickets are on sale at the Dr. Pepper Ballpark office during ticket hours as well as here.

JUNE 11

ComCardio’s Grand Opening Celebration

Celebrate the official opening of ComCardio in Hurst with a free community boot camp sponsored by Premier Protein followed by a free community zumba class. Learn foam-rolling techniques, get fitted for a spin bike, and enter to win prizes. Register soon, because space is limited.

JUNE 18

Dallas Yoga Festival

International Yoga Day meets DFW with a daylong festival in Plano including everything from yoga sessions to meditation and kids programs. There will also be holistic seminars, a keynote speaker, and mini-workshops. Registration is free.

JUNE 25

Back On My Feet Meaningful Miles 5K/10K

This run honors individuals experiencing homelessness in Dallas, honoring every past and present Back On My Feet member. Bring your puppies and strollers. The race goes on rain or shine. The event will be emceed by Channel 8 meteorologist Colleen Coyle. Register here.

Various Dates

Yoga With Exhale Dallas – 10 a.m. Sundays

Every Sunday from 10-11 a.m., come do your downward dogs at Klyde Warren Park on the East Lawn. Mats are provided and so is a good workout. Follow up your yoga session with lunch from the food trucks, which are there from 11 a.m. to 3p.m.

Trinity 5000 Summer Series – 7:30 p.m. Thursdays

Join in for a weekly running series to keep your fitness at top level during the summer months. Starting June 2 and running through Aug. 18, 5Ks are held every Thursday evening and feature a flat and fast course, free parking, a free fun run for kids, and water stops.
