Gym Bag Spill

What’s in fitness studio owner Brandi Marino’s gym bag?

Brandi Marino, who helped pioneer the Pilates boutique format in Dallas, is the owner of boutique fitness studio concepts BEYOND Pilates and BEYOND 500. She’s a gym spitfire who will shoot you straight – but with kindness. When she’s not helping her clients meet their goals, she’s tirelessly pursuing her passion of animal rescue. (She even hosts classes where the proceeds benefit animal rescue philanthropies that are close to her heart.)

With her accolades and dedication to fitness, we couldn’t help but wonder what’s in her gym bag. Marino recently gave us a peek.

  1. T-shirt. Marino loves getting creative with her BEYOND-branded apparel. Each quarter, she comes up with a new saying to don her workout tees and tanks. This particular one says “Eat, Sleep, BEYOND, Repeat.”

  2. Organic Deodorant. Marino keeps things au naturale when it comes to her underarms. Her favorite deoderant right now can be found at Sprouts. She likes it because it’s clear, extra strength for those sweaty workout days, utilizes tea tree oil and has no aluminum, dyes or alcohol. [aside id=”1″]

  3. Skincare Products. The Mio Skincare products are Marino’s trusty sidekicks when it comes to nourishing and firming her skin. I was most intrigued with the “Clean Slate” product. Marino says it is a shower-free way to get clean. Seems to be quite handy for a gym gal on the go. The cucumber mint-infused wipes rejuvenate Marino in between classes and help prevent post-gym breakouts.

  4. Essential Oils. To complement Marino’s go-to skincare products, she relies on a collection of essential oils for her day-to-day routine. The particular ones Marino swears by are made by 21 Drops. The green vile helps her concentrate, and the purple helps her relax, making it a good one to reach for after class. The blue one helps manage pain.

  5. A Drill. Out of all the gym tricks and treats, this was the last thing I expected to spring out of Marino’s gym bag. Marino used to keep the drill in her purse – until she was on a first date and it became the topic of conversation when the date spied it in her bag. But being a savvy and resourceful business owner, she carries a drill in her gym bag so she is prepared to fix anything, any time, anywhere.
