Whether you’re still plugging away at that New Year’s fitness resolution or racing to get in shape in time for Spring Break, Dallas has plenty of fitness fixes to keep you busy this month. Try some of these fun runs, bike trails, and dog walks to get your adrenaline pumping and make room for those St. Patrick’s Day drinks.

MARCH 12

Free Outdoor Yoga at CityLine in Richardson – 9 a.m. on Saturdays

Who doesn’t appreciate free yoga? Starting March 12, stop in for free outdoor yoga classes every Saturday through May 28. The classes are held in the CityLine plaza and led by instructors from Reef Point Yoga, an upcoming yoga studio addition to CityLine. The class is open to all fitness levels, and complimentary parking is available at three nearby garages. CityLine asks that participants arrive 15 minutes early to sign waivers and set up their mats.

The Music Run – 6:30 p.m.

Claiming to be the “world’s loudest 5K,” the Dallas Music Run offers a “pre-party” before the run starting at 4:30 p.m. and a post-run music festival featuring deejays and live bands at Dallas’ Fair Park. Check out the lineup. Fireworks, laser lights, and giveaways will keep your adrenaline pumping after you cross the finish line. The first wave of runners starts at 6:30 p.m., and the last leaves at 6:50 p.m. The race is partnering with Camp Kesem, which offers free summer camps for children who have been affected by a parent’s cancer. Standard tickets cost $35, and you can get them here.

MARCH 19

St. Paddy’s Day Dash Down Greenville 5K – 8:30 a.m.

You don’t have to be Irish to be lucky enough to participate in the Dash Down Greenville 5K! (It’s turning 21 this year.) Come out to Central Market in your best St. Paddy’s costume, and you could walk away with a cash prize. Then, stick around to enjoy live music, food, and beer. A single entry is $39 until after the real St. Patrick’s Day; register here. The race’s proceeds will go to the North Texas Food Bank.

Dirty Girl Mud Run – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Dirty Girl Mud Run is coming to Dallas on March 19. Registration is $79, and the run will take place at Skyline Ranch. The fun run isn’t timed; expect a bunch of obstacles, music, adult beverages, and–of course–plenty of mud. If you’re not a morning person but want to run anyway, you’re in luck. The first group of runners starts at 9 a.m., with another “wave” released every 15 minutes until 1 p.m. This messy 5K is partnering with Bright Pink, a national non-profit focused on the prevention and detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women through education and support.

MARCH 19 & 20

Dallas Rock ‘N‘ Roll – Saturday at 7:45 a.m. | Sunday at 8 a.m.

Live music always makes running easier, which is why the two Dallas Rock ’n’ Roll fun runs are a hit! The weekend’s events include both a 5K and a half marathon, so there is something for everyone. The 5K is Saturday from 7:45 a.m.-10 a.m. and ends at Fair Park. Registration for the 5K is $50. The half marathon starts at 8 a.m. Sunday and costs $109. You can also fundraise for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and register to run for free. Once you get to the finish line at either race, walk through the beer garden and enjoy a cooldown concert. Sign up here.

MARCH 24

Celebration! White Rock – 6:30 p.m.

This race is a walk in the park. Run while taking in the views of one of Dallas’ most visited parks, starting at Winfrey Point. Afterwards, enjoy a post-race festival full of music, local food, and great drinks. The day’s proceeds will go toward White Rock Lake Conservancy’s efforts to keep the park beautiful.

MARCH 26

Firefly Run Dallas – 7:45 p.m.

Are you more of a nocturnal runner and/or hate getting up early to exercise? Get ready to light up and take part in the Firefly Run. Decorate yourself like a Christmas tree or dress in another illuminating costume and enjoy this fun 5K. After the race, watch as lights dance in the post-race celebration with laser effects, lighted trees, glowing arches, and other bright decorations. There’s also a post-race costume contest. The price goes up as more people register, so sign up early here.
