5 Free Fitness Events for November

From yoga to a self-defense seminar, sweat for free this month.

We’ve outlined a some of the month’s most notable fitness events, but “free” has a certain ring to it.

Free Yoga on the Bridge

Start your morning off right, and join V12 Yoga for a free yoga class on Continental Avenue Bridge in Trinity Groves. All ages and experience levels are welcome, but bring your own mat.

When: 9-10 a.m. Nov. 14

Where: Continental Avenue Bridge

 

Capoeira with RCJ Machado Jiu Jitsu

Are you looking for a class so fun that you won’t realize you’re working out? Try a free Capoeira class that combines martial arts, music, and dance. The class is presented by RCJ Machado Jiu Jitsu.

When: 10-11 a.m. Nov. 14

Where: Ginsberg Family Great Lawn, Klyde Warren Park

 

Yoga in the Gardens

Colby Ranae Hanks will lead a free yoga class in the gardens of Harwood. Bring your own mat and water.

When: 9-10 a.m. Nov. 14

Where: Harwood District in the garden located between Saint Ann and Mercat Bistro

 

Pilates in the Park

Every Tuesday this month, Pilates Methodology will host a free class at Klyde Warren Park. Make sure to bring your own mat.

When: 6-7 p.m. Nov. 17 and Nov. 24

Where: Muse Family Performance Pavilion, Klyde Warren Park

 

Women’s Self-Defense Seminar

Led by Chamberlain Studios’ Nick Chamberlain, the seminar will teach basic self-defense techniques. The Dallas Police Department will also present safety and awareness tips. (There’ll be free pizza from Primo Brother’s Pizza after the seminar.)

When: 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 21

Where: St. John’s Episcopal School’s main gym
