Dallas isn’t just home for Bachelor stars like Jake Pavelka and Sean Lowe. Our city is also the place where host Chris Harrison grew up. Harrison, who has presided over 19 seasons of The Bachelor and 11 seasons of The Bachelorette, was in town last night for a book signing of his fictional romance novel The Perfect Letter. We caught up with him to find out how he stays healthy and fit despite hosting a show where the champagne river is always flowing. After all, standing next to those good lookin’ gents is a tall order. Here’s how he does it:

If you only have 20 minutes to work out, what’s your routine?
I would do just something active and stay busy the entire time: burpees, pull-ups and running. A little weight training, but definitely active weight training.

No long walks on the beach!
Well that’s not 20 minutes. My long walks take longer than that.

What’s your typical daily workout routine?
I change it up. I’m an ADD workout guy so it’s like spin class one day, hit the pool one day, run on the beach one day. A lot of lifting roses. There’s a lot of cutting roses because that works the forearms. Then there’s digging in the soil. And there’s also the champagne. You’ve got to pick the grapes.

What’s your usual breakfast?
Also roses—and tears. I usually drink the tears of bachelors and bachelorettes past.

What’s your go-to cheat meal?
Oh Tex-Mex. Definitely Tex-Mex.

What do you listen to when you work out?
Imagine Dragons—the entire album.

How do you define being “healthy” and “fit”?
Just feeling good and taking care of yourself. It’s different for everybody. It’s not being ripped. It’s not looking like a guy on The Bachelor. I think it’s just being healthy to live your life.
