The Fit List: Punk Mix

These tunes are sure to get you in tip-top shape, no head-banging necessary.

Maybe because mosh pits are enough of a workout, it’s not often you see punk rockers at the local gym. It’s a shame, because punk—particularly of the breakneck riff and shouting about self-empowerment variety—lends itself pretty well to physical activity, whether it’s doing a closed-eye backflip off a beer-soaked stage or hitting the Gatorade-drenched treadmill at 24 Hour Fitness.

These 14 tracks are marked for their intensity and brevity. I tried to include a few songs that give you a moment or two to catch your breath, but this patented punk rock workout doesn’t let up much once it tears out the gate. After running a mile or two to this playlist, you’ll be in tip-top shape for that next house show or anarchist convention.
