Extended hand-to-toe, or Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana B, is a challenging pose that will have you standing up straight and feeling more balanced with time. Begin by establishing a solid base in mountain pose, or Tadasana, before you bring your right knee up towards your chest and clasp your pointer and middle finder around your big toe. From there, straighten your leg in front of you while continuing to hold your toe. Make sure that your standing leg is straight and focus on your overall balance before opening up the hip of your lifted leg and holding it out to your side for several breaths.

Benefits:

  • Improves physical and mental balance
  • Strengthens the legs
  • Stretches the legs and gluteus muscles
