From her corner of the web, Dallas lifestyle blogger Lauren Sims shares everything from style tips, gift guides, and outfit ideas to healthy recipes, race recaps, and glimpses into her daily life. Lauren, who has amassed nearly 90,000 Instagram followers, keeps a healthy lifestyle and writes about it often. We caught up with Lauren, a runner and self-proclaimed sweet tooth, to see how she maintains a healthy balance between chocolate chip cookies and logging miles.

What’s your favorite healthy way to start the day?

I start every day the same way: I have a cup of warm lemon water with a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar (so good for your metabolism and has tons of other health benefits!), and I take 30 minutes to have a quiet time–reading, praying, or journaling!

What is your go-to workout?

I try and change it up, but I will always be a runner at heart. Not only for the physical benefits, but I love getting outside and totally unplugging for a long run.

What are the most-played songs on your workout playlist?

This is constantly changing too, but my current jams are: “There Will Be Time” by Mumford & Sons, “Gold” by Kiiara, and “YOUTH” by Troye Sivan.

What is your go-to workout secret or tip?

Push your limits. You will never get stronger unless you push past your comfort zone.

What are your guilty pleasures when it comes to things that aren’t so healthy?

I seriously have the biggest sweet tooth of ALL time. Literally, I eat dessert probably seven days a week.

How do you fit those into your healthy lifestyle?

I fit desserts into my healthy lifestyle because all of my meals and snacks are really healthy (for the most part), and I work out probably six days a week. So, I don’t feel bad about having ice cream or cookies at night! It’s all about balance.

What does a typical day look like for you as a full-time blogger?

Every day looks different for me, which is what I love about blogging! But, typically, each day involves working out, answering emails, writing blog posts, editing photos, running errands, brainstorming new ideas for contents or brands to reach out to, with a photo shoot at least once a week!
