Whose house?

After looking at his season thus far, looking at what’s ahead for him and the team, doing a little back of the envelope math, and using what can only be called keen detective skills, I have figured out exactly, to the quarter, when Dirk Nowitzki will join Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, and Wilt Chamberlain as the only NBA players to score 30,000 over the course of their illustrious careers. Are you ready?

Wait. Go ahead and look at the schedule, and see if you can guess, too. OK, I’ll give you a minute. [exactly 1 minute and 19 seconds later] You ready now? Did you figure it out? It’s fine. I got it. Here goes:

Dirk Werner Nowitzki will score his 30,000th career point on March 25, 2017, at the American Airlines Center against the Toronto Raptors. It will happen early in the third quarter. It will come on a jumper from the left baseline.
