Colleyville Heritage Catches Flak for Trump Sign. Before a game against the racially diverse Trinity High, the kids from predominately white Colleyville Heritage had a pep rally Friday whose theme was “Make Colleyville Great Again.” They held a sign that looked like a wall, and it read “Paid for, by Trinity.” The whole thing was in such bad taste that people seem to have overlooked that errant comma. Predictably, some people are aghast at the racist undertones (well, overtones) of the pep rally, while others say those people are overreacting. Colleyville City Council member Bobby Lindamood defended Colleyville Heritage by writing on Facebook, “Our school is full of colored people, Red – Yellow, Black – Brown & White!” Yesterday he blamed the Morning News for stirring up the controversy, again taking to Facebook to say that he is “the furtherest person from being a racist.” He also said he loves his “bi-racial cousins” and has a “Red friend.”

Some of those were built by the nonprofit bcWORKSHOP, with help from Big Thought and the Dallas Public Library.
