DALLAS SAYS GOODBYE TO TWO MORE OFFICERS. Funeral and remembrance services were held Thursday for Sgt. Michael Smith and Patricio “Patrick” E. Zamarripa, two of the five Dallas police officers killed in last week’s ambush attack. Thousands attended Smith’s public funeral at Watermark Community Church. Smith, a former Army Ranger, had served the department for more than 30 years. He leaves behind a wife and two daughters. Throughout the week, Zamarripa’s family has welcomed visitors looking to pay their respects to Greenwood Funeral Home in Fort Worth. Thousands of others are expected at a rosary, funeral and burial services Friday and Saturday.

4 OFFICERS KILLED ON THE STREET, 1 THROUGH A WINDOW IN LAST WEEK’S AMBUSH. Law enforcement officials have determined where and when the five officers were killed in last week’s shooting. Officials say officers Lorne Ahrens, Michael Krol, and Patrick Zamarripa were killed when the shooter fired into a group of police and protestors around 9 p.m. The shooter snuck up behind DART officer Brent Thompson in front of El Centro College, shooting Thompson several times. Once inside El Centro, the shooter made his way to a second-floor window overlooking Elm Street, where he shot Sgt. Michael Smith.

DALLAS MUSEUM OF ART NAMES NEW DIRECTOR. After a nine-month search, the DMA named Dr. Agustín Arteaga as its new Eugene McDermott Director on Thursday. Arteaga has served as the director of Mexico City’s Museo Nacional de Arte since 2013. Arteaga is replacing Maxwell Anderson, who left last year for the New Cities Foundation in New York.

BE SAFE, POTENTIAL POKéMASTERS. Safety concerns are growing for avid Pokémon Go users, who aren’t paying attention to where they’re walking—or driving. A Flower Mound teen was bitten by a venomous snake Tuesday night while playing the game at a nearby park. Catch ’em all safely, please.
