Wylie H. Dallas wrote yesterday about the numbers suggesting that the addition of a hotel hasn’t exactly generated a financial bonanza for the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. Philip Jones, CEO of the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau, has argued that the place needs a $200 million-$300 million upgrade to remain competitive in the business of luring dentists and music teachers and coin collectors to meet there.
