Yesterday two Highland Park cops found out they would not be prosecuted for the shooting death of a suspect last June. After an independent investigation by the county sheriff’s office, a grand jury decided no indictments needed to be issued for the incident.

Dan Koller over at Park Cities People posted the video that the Highland Park Department of Public Safety showed at yesterday’s news conference. He’s right when he writes “Everything about Highland Park is first rate, and that includes videos explaining fatal police shootings.”

Skip to the 5-minute mark if you just want to see the dramatic footage of how David Hartman escaped a police vehicle at Airline Road and Mockingbird Lane and got shot.
